What is a cookie?
Cookies are small strings of text exchanged between a website and the user’s browser, whenever you access an Internet site. These strings, which do not contain any executable code, are used for different purposes, such as performing automatic authentication, keeping track of sessions, storing information to improve the surfing capabilities of the site or the user’s browsing experience. Each domain visited through a browser can set one or more cookies. An Internet page can contain objects that come from many different domains, and each of them can set cookies (in this case, called “third-party cookies”). The use of cookies improves the browsing experience on the website and can keep the chosen settings during your next visit.
The general provision of the National Data Protection Authority – Garante Privacy (Official Gazette n°. 126 of June 3, 2014) defines two types of cookies:
· Technical cookies – Used for the sole purpose of allowing the transmission of a communication, completing a service requested by the user or performing statistical research.
· Profiling cookies – Used to record the behaviour of a user and the expressed preferences in order to send advertising messages in line with his/her profile.
Servotecnica SpA uses the following cookies for its website:
Functional (first party)
These cookies allow the correct operation of some parts of the site. These cookies are stored in the browser; they can be cleared, or the reception thereof can be disabled, although this would affect the functionality of some services on the website. The user can change the cookie reception setting by changing the storage settings thereof as described in the “How do I disable cookies?” section of this statement.
Analytics (third party)
Google Analytics is a free tool for web analysing by Google. It mainly allows information to be gathered (for example, information on the visited pages, the amount of time spent on the site, the way the site was reached and whatever was clicked by the user while browsing our pages) anonymously, and website trends to be reported without identifying individual visitors. You can view the privacy policies of Google at the following link: http://www.google.it/intl/it/policies/privacy/
Remarketing (third party)
Servotecnica SpA uses third-party cookies to manage the remarketing of the offers contained in the site. This tool makes it possible to publish ads in the Google contents network based on previous user visits to our website. The pages in our website include a code which allows the cookies in the user’s browser to be read and configured, in order to determine the kind of specific ad that will be shown to the user, based on the data related to his/her visit to our website. For example, the user can view ads of the category that was previously viewed in the website of Servotecnica SpA, and change the cookie reception setting as described in the “How do I disable cookies?” section of this statement.
Advertising (third party)
Google uses cookies named ‘AID’, ‘DSID’ and ‘TAID’, which are used to link your activity across devices if you previously signed in to your Google Account on another device. We do this to coordinate the ads you see across devices and measure conversion events. These cookies may be set on the domains google.com/ads, google.com/ads/measurement, or googleadsservices.com. If you do not want the ads that you see to be coordinated across your devices, you can opt out of Ads Personalisation at the following link: www.google.com/settings/ads .
Tag Manager (third party)
Google Analytics enables enhanced link tracking on the pages of your website. This feature helps to:
· Get detailed information concerning multiple links on a page that all have the same destination.
· See when one page element has multiple destinations (e.g. search box).
· Track clicks on buttons, menus and actions driven by JavaScript.
With Google Tag Manager, it is very easy to enable this feature. In the Tag used to implement Google Analytics, go to Other Settings > Advanced Configuration.
There you will see the Enable Enhanced Link Tracking box. To enable enhanced link tracking, just change the setting by selecting True.
AppNexus (third party)
AppNexus runs a technological platform which customers use to buy, sell and deliver online advertising, including interest-based advertising, mostly through real-time bidding. The Platform is designed to use cookies to associate the information that does not directly indentify an individual (non-PII) with browsers and devices, so that its clients can use the information to select ads for delivery by the Platform. For detailed information about their cookie policy, please check out https://www.appnexus.com/en/company/cookie-policy .
DoubleClick Floodlight (third party)
Floodlight is an optional feature in DCM. It allows you to track and report on conversions – the actions of users who visit the company’s website after viewing or clicking on one of the ads – and to set up an audience, which compiles lists of users who have performed specific actions on the website, then makes those users available for targeting by subsequent campaigns. The DCM ad server reads the user’s DoubleClick cookie. If there is no cookie, a new one is created. For information about how DoubleClick uses cookies and how users can opt out of the DoubleClick ad-serving cookie, see DoubleClick cookies
HotJar (third party)

about navigation in order to optimise web pages. These data are acquired in
anonymous form. For further information on HotJar
policies, please check out https://www.hotjar.com/privacy
