DINGS' K Series Captive linear actuators are composed of a hybrid stepper motor, screw and lead screw. In the K Series, the screw moves without rotating thanks to the integrated anti-rotation system mounted externally to the motor; this makes for a more compact drive footprint.

The external shaft is grooved. Units are available in the NEMA 8, NEMA 11, NEMA 14 and NEMA 17 sizes, i.e. with 20, 28, 35 and 42 mm square flanges respectively. Available actuation force is 45 N (NEMA 8), 140 N (NEMA 11), 230 N (NEMA 14) and 320 N (NEMA 17). For each size, two motor versions are available: single or dual stack. The pitch of the screw can be chosen from a variety of solutions: a smaller pitch delivers low speed with higher actuation force, while a larger pitch yields high speed and lower force. The pitch ranges from 0.3048 mm to 8 mm, for speeds of 3.8 mm/sec to 100 mm/sec respectively. The stroke varies from 9 mm to 63.5 mm, depending on size.

These linear actuators are the best choice for applications requiring high precision positioning, high actuation force and low actuation speed combined with ease of control. Personalisation options include: screw pitch, rotary encoder and custom windings.
