Combined Rotary Joints

The combined rotary joints are manufactured by Servotecnica, combining the fluidic joints of our American representative DSTI and the electric joints manufactured by us; the ultimate goal is to provide highly reliable components, ensuring the highest quality-cost ratio.  The combined rotary joints are also known as: mixed rotary joint, combined slip ring, electric and fluidic rotary joint.

The main purpose of the combined rotary joint is to transfer liquids, fluids or gases, as well as electric signals, from a fixed structure to a movable one. Combined rotary joints consist of two parts: an outer one called STATOR (because it is normally stationary) and an internal one called ROTOR (because it normally rotates), the fluidic part can feature several passages and the seals are made specifically according to the fluid or gas to be carried; for electric signals the STATOR consists of brushes made of precious material (gilded or silver plated copper) while the ROTOR consists of rings also made with precious materials. Operation is reversible, i.e. the external part, which is normally fixed, can be made to rotate and, as a result, the internal part (which normally rotates) can be kept fixed. The easiest solution is the combined rotary joint SVTS C 05, with a single air passage measuring 6 or 10 mm. The electric collector can carry power, with 15A contacts and up to 24 passages, as well as digital, analogue or fieldbus signals. When a greater number of air passages is required, with pressures up to 40 BAR, we recommend pairing the LT pneumatic manifold with one of the SVTS A electric collectors. The LT 21241 version features 24 air passages and 56 electric power signals and signals including fieldbus. For solutions that feature both air and fluidic passages we recommend the GPS series with steel body; the GPS-301-12 version features up to 12 passages with pressures of 512 BAR, also by pairing with an electric collector that ensures the transfer of power, signals and fieldbus. For each series there are customised solutions available which can cover all requirements in the field of combined rotary joints.
